Make Your Own World | How To Brighten Up Your Workspace On A Budget

I'm a stickler for an organised workplace. By that I mean everything has to have a place, each item I have has to inspire me or have a purpose and most of all it has to look inviting.

I love corkboards. I know nowadays we have Pinterest, Tumblr or We Heart It for saving what inspires us, but sometimes I want to be able to look up from my laptop and read a positive quote to spur me on, and not have to worry about getting distracted from my work. The thing is, corkboards are ugly. Ugly, but really cheap! So, I thought I'd show you what I did to mine and to inspire you to not give up on your workspace! It may not be your favourite place in your home but it has some real potential to inspire you to do what you love!

What You Will Need:
Corkboard
Acrylic Paint
Paintbrush
Washi Tape

1. Depending on your colour of paint, it can take a few coats to cover the cork. With white it took three coats, but as it dries quickly, it's still a quick DIY!
2. With your washi tapes I say do what you like! 1 or 4 different washi tapes would look great! I used MT tapes which I bought from Rad Studio in Saltaire. There's a serious selection of colours and patterns online. There are also different brands of tape you can buy which are cheaper, but possibly aren't as good in terms of quality. If you know of a brand that is better, please do let us know!
