It is nearly Halloween (hurrah!) and so I thought, what better way to get us in the mood than a Folksy themed Halloween post showing some of the best spooky buys this autumn?!
I am the first person to admit that this time of year used to scare me somewhat and I would dread all the adverts for scary films that would be shown on the run up to the day.
But now I am older I am far more excited about what a fantastic crafting and making opportunity this holiday is and also how inspiring it can be seeing the beautifully handmade Halloween goodies that are available to us at the mere click of a button!
First and foremost I think we need to address what is CLEARLY the main point of this holiday - the sweets!
Now I know that we may be a little old for trick or treat (and a little young to be forcing any of our own children to gather any treats on our behalf!) but I would be quite easily swayed into parading around the village in some kind of handmade spider/witch ensemble if it meant gathering my goodies in this lovely bag by Love Imagining...
And while we are on the theme of pumpkins, why not invest in these fab re-usable handmade felt pumpkins by Lana Dolls to replace your usual root veg one?
How great is this stylish, stripey pumpkin themed cushion by Crafty Bags?
Also, I have to admit I have got a soft spot for these Zombie bunnies by Fiona T.
Of course one of the best things about Halloween has to be the decorations, so feast your eyes on these quirky crafted beauties -
Firstly are these AMAZING eyeball coasters by Becky Garratt which I think I am actually slightly in love with.
Plus, check out this gorgeous jet black heart garland by Bookity - perfect for adding a more classic touch to your spooky evening.
I love the amount of effort and detail that has gone into this marvellous Halloween witch doll by SMockery SmArt. You can clearly see that it is a piece that will probably last you from generation to generation (as long as it isn't played with too much!)
Also, how great is this tea cosy by The Cosy Daisy? I think it would make the perfect centrepiece for a Halloween themed midnight tea party...
If you're looking for things to do at your tea party why not invest in these fantastic Halloween themed play doughs by The Playdough Factory?
Why not send all of your guests home with their creations in a little goodie bag with these gorgeous tags by Amaretto attached too?
Now, we know Halloween wouldn't be the same without fancy dress, but I know that dressing up isn't quite the same as when we were 7 and we could get away with being 'devils' without getting peculiar looks from strangers! So, why not check out these stylish beauties that will add a touch of fun without being too over the top...
Firstly is this beautiful handmade dress by Jennifer Lilly which, I am not going to lie, I would happily wear all year round.
Then, why not add an extra spooky touch with this fab skeleton hand headband by Janine Basil? She has some seriously cool headbands and fascinators for pretty much any event!
I know I said before that I am too young for children at the moment, but I am seriously considering it if it means I can buy this beautiful crocheted hat by Angela's cute crafts.
I may not have children, but I do have dogs and I know I am definitely buying these cute bandanas by Zukie Style for my dogs this Halloween. Whether they will keep it on or not is a different story...
I hope this has got you in a spooky frame of mind for your own Halloween events, or at least made you want to put a pumpkin pie in the oven and watch some classic scary movies with your loved ones.
Whatever you are doing, enjoy it - but remember to be in bed before 12... or the ghosts will get you!
