Places To Visit In Manchester | The Art Of Tea In Didsbury

Ma Bicyclette: Places To Visit In Manchester | The Art Of Tea In Didsbury

The south of Manchester really is a treasure trove of bohemian cafés, distinctive bars and a wide selection of charity shops to rummage through. One of my favourite places is Didsbury, which feels a little more up-market and fashionable than the student-infested Fallowfield. However, even as a young student type you don't feel out of place, its a hub of creativity and people who start businesses for the good of the community. There is so much going on and so much to do, I would really love to live there at some point.

One of my favourite places in this end of Manchester is the quaint tea and cake shop, The Art of Tea. You walk in to be greeted by the smell of coffee, herbal tea and cake, feeling right at home with the friendly staff and mismatched furniture.

The thing I love about independent coffee shops is that they really care when someone steps in through their door and they want to find out more about them. It's a far cry from the feeling that I get when I walk into coffee shops like Starbucks.

It just gets better, not only is The Art of Tea a café with a wonderful selection of cakes, they also serve delicious meals, have a selection of speciality beers and wines, showcase a gallery of local artist on their walls but also, I'll save the best for last... at the back of the shop there is a second hand book shop!

It's a bookshop teamed with an old man who will sing to you when you walk in and ask you peculiar questions; he's a funny character. Character is something The Art of Tea is bursting with, you will not be disappointed by a visit there and you could go home with a few new books to read and a satisfied sweet tooth.

It's everything a cafe should be and more.

  3. This is a truly wonderful space - it has become my local. Full of friendly staff and definitely a certain clientele.
I wanted to keep it my little secret but difficult as it has become so popular. What with the bookshop and the picture framer you have three for the price of one. I can highly recommend all 3.
The best coffee shop for miles and a wonderful place to just sit and relax
