Places To Visit In Manchester | Kim By The Sea

Manchester is full of great places to eat, but the city centre can get a bit dull with chain restaurants like Nando’s and Pizza Express giving you the same experience in every city you visit. I’m going to introduce you to somewhere which lies a little outside of the city centre (a 10 minute bus ride from Piccadilly) in an unexpected corner of Hulme.

Kim By The Sea is a quaint little eatery which is situated just across from Hulme Community Garden centre. Its retro and quirky theme gives it a lovely unique eating experience, not to mention the food is… AMAZING.

Today I tried the Sweet Potato and Haloumi Salad with Pitta which was a very refreshing summer dish enjoyed sat outside in the sunshine. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Other favourites include Eggs Flo Jo, a perfect breakfast dish of poached eggs with spinach on toast with hollandaise sauce!

The portion sizes are generous and all the food is freshly made and cooked to perfection. There’s definitely some excellent talent in the kitchen as I have never been disappointed. Kim By The Sea gives you a relaxing atmosphere normally to the tune of some Parisian or Jazz music. There's also a jukebox upstairs if you want to tailor the music to your taste. The upstairs area is completely different from downstairs, it's more like a mismatched living room with leather sofas and tasseled lampshades while downstairs boasts vintage French posters, café style seating and plants growing up the walls.

If you want to try something different and don’t mind a short bus ride, hop on the 86 and get off on Old Birley Street, it is definitely worth the visit!
